Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established building services company covering the London area. The role is hands‑on, delivering planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical plant and M&E systems.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services.
• Service and maintain mechanical plant, pumps and pressurisation units.
• Fault find, diagnose and repair mechanical issues, producing reports and certifications.
• Respond to breakdowns, call‑outs and complete remedial works while complying with health & safety.
• Liaise with customers and tenants on site and maintain site logbooks.

Required profile

• Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications.
• Experience in mechanical building services, facilities management or M&E maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Required skills

• Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
• Servicing pumps and pressurisation units.
• Understanding of health & safety requirements.
