Mechanical Supervisor - Dorchester

About the role

1st Step Solutions is supporting a National M&E contractor that is looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to join its team on a project in Dorchester. The role is a contract position and is open to supervisors who have prior hospital experience working directly for a Tier 1 M&E contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the installation of mechanical works.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors, making sure staff and subcontractors are adequately trained and follow H&S procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks, order materials, complete schedules of work and schedule materials so the programme of works is delivered.
• Liaise regularly with managers and report on all works carried out on site.
• Manage variations and ensure the installation is of a high standard and snag-free.
• Carry out site surveys.
• Handle paperwork such as RFIs, method statements, risk assessments, site diaries and progress reports.

Required profile

• Prior hospital experience working directly for a Tier 1 M&E contractor.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Good literacy skills.
• Ability to drive a project.

Required skills

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting or equivalent.
• CSCS Skill Card.
• SSSTS/SMSTS.
• First Aid at Work.
