Mechanical Systems Installation Design Engineer

About the role

Join the 1AWYF2 Fuel Systems Installation Wing Engineering Design Team at Airbus in Filton. You will work within a multinational group that designs and validates fuel system installation components for a range of commercial aircraft, from the Single‑Aisle family to the A380 and A350.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the end‑to‑end design process, from concept through maturity gates and DFM.
• Design and validate fuel system installation components and assemblies, optimising weight, cost, performance and manufacturability while ensuring safety.
• Produce the Definition Dossier for Manufacturing and Assembly.
• Lead technical studies, trades and investigations to deliver compliant solutions.
• Support design concepts for incremental product development and conduct installation trials or prototyping as needed.
• Manage new modifications, provide in‑service fleet support and assist wing build activities.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work agilely with diverse stakeholders and maintain a wellbeing‑focused approach.
• Motivation to deliver high‑quality designs on time and within budget.

Required skills

• Proficient use of CATIA V5.
• Experience with design configuration tools such as PASS, DPDS, VPM and ICC/ACP.
