Mechanical/Electrical Facilities Placement – 12.5 months

About the role

Join Airbus’s Facilities Management and Real Estate team at the Broughton site for a 12.5‑month placement focused on mechanical and electrical infrastructure. You will support the optimisation of pump stations, ventilation systems and other services across the Airbus UK portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the site HO Services with budget management, forecasting and CapEX planning.
• Identify redundant mechanical and electrical services and develop removal strategies using the Airbus ARM risk‑management tool.
• Support asset strategy development for external pump stations and ventilation systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and supply‑chain partners to ensure regulatory compliance and optimise asset uptime.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering degree for the full placement duration.
• Strong analytical mindset with interest in creative problem‑solving and evidence‑based decision making.
• Basic project‑management experience and willingness to learn Airbus tools and processes.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
