Medical Billing Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join Medserv in Haywards Heath. The role supports healthcare professionals by ensuring medical claims are processed efficiently and payments are secured.

Key responsibilities

• Review client accounts and monitor outstanding fees and claims.
• Identify and follow up on delayed payments through phone, email and internal systems.
• Communicate with clients, secretaries, insurers and hospital contacts to obtain updates and resolve issues.
• Submit eligible claims to insurers with accurate information.
• Investigate payment delays and take corrective actions to secure payment.
• Provide regular status updates to clients and answer queries professionally.
• Prepare reports on outstanding fees, payment activity and actions taken.
• Maintain detailed records of all communications and actions in the company system.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet team targets and departmental goals.

Required profile

• Experience in an administrative, coordination, customer service or office‑based role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with insurers, hospitals and clients.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
• Motivation to learn medical billing processes; prior billing experience is not required.
