Medical Science Liaison

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison will join a leading pharmaceutical organisation’s UK Medical Affairs team, focusing on rare diseases. Working three days a week on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract, you will act as a scientific bridge between the company and healthcare professionals across the United Kingdom.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep scientific and product knowledge in rare disease therapeutics.
• Provide expert medical insights to internal teams and external healthcare professionals.
• Build and nurture relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to shape medical strategy.
• Lead high‑impact initiatives such as national advisory boards, Phase IIIb/IV clinical studies, and investigator‑initiated trials.
• Ensure all medical activities comply with the ABPI Code of Practice.

Required profile

• Degree in a life‑science, medical or pharmacy discipline.
• Minimum two years of experience in a Medical Affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry; rare‑disease experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.
