Medical Secretary (Temporary Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to join a busy healthcare organisation in south‑west Glasgow on a temporary basis. The role is full‑time, office‑based and will support consultants and clinical teams for 6‑9 months, with the possibility of a permanent position thereafter.

Key responsibilities

• Manage appointments, referrals and patient enquiries.
• Type and format clinical correspondence and maintain accurate records.
• Provide secretarial support to consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Handle confidential information in line with data protection standards.
• Assist with the day‑to‑day running of the department.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Medical Secretary or in healthcare administration.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a busy workload.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
