Member Support Adviser

About the role

The Member Support Adviser joins NASUWT’s Member Support Services Team to provide expert advice to teachers and school leaders on employment and union membership matters. Working on a hybrid schedule from Rednal, Birmingham, you will handle a busy telephone advice line and respond to email enquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely advice on teachers’ terms and conditions and relevant employment law.
• Manage a rotating shift covering 08:00‑18:30 to meet service demand.
• Record interactions and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge resources.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex member queries.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of UK employment law and teachers’ contractual terms.
• Commitment to the values and ethos of trade unions.
• Excellent communication and member‑care skills.
• Experience providing telephone advice in a legal or employment context.
