About the role
The Member Support Adviser joins NASUWT’s Member Support Services Team to provide expert advice to teachers and school leaders on employment and union membership matters. Working on a hybrid schedule from Rednal, Birmingham, you will handle a busy telephone advice line and respond to email enquiries.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver accurate, timely advice on teachers’ terms and conditions and relevant employment law.
- Manage a rotating shift covering 08:00‑18:30 to meet service demand.
- Record interactions and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge resources.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex member queries.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and teachers’ contractual terms.
- Commitment to the values and ethos of trade unions.
- Excellent communication and member‑care skills.
- Experience providing telephone advice in a legal or employment context.

What we offer
- Competitive salary ranging from £41,864 to £47,656 per year.
- 35‑hour work week, Monday‑Friday.
