Mental Health and Counselling Project Worker

About the role

Centre 33 is seeking a dedicated Mental Health and Counselling Project Worker to join its multi‑disciplinary team. You will provide safe, responsive counselling support to young people aged 13‑25, helping them navigate mental health and emotional challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑contact sessions and follow‑up calls with young people.
• Provide short‑term, solution‑focused counselling to a caseload of clients.
• Assess, manage and record risk and safeguarding concerns, making referrals when needed.
• Collaborate with other professionals and contribute to the continuous development of the service.
• Represent Centre 33 in relevant networks and initiatives, promoting the needs of young people.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people (13‑25) in a mental health or counselling setting.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment and safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Permanent contract (35 hours per week).
• Competitive salary of £28,000‑£31,000 per year.
• Hub‑based work in Peterborough and Huntingdon with occasional travel to other Cambridgeshire sites.
