Mental Health Assistant – Aspiring Psychologist

About the role
This full‑time position supports vulnerable children in a South East England school. The Mental Health Assistant works closely with teachers and pupils to address trauma, anxiety, depression and related learning and behavioural challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with mental‑health needs.
- Assist the class teacher with general classroom duties and behaviour management.
- Help implement and adapt individual education plans for each child.
- Act as a positive role model and reliable support system for students.
Required profile
- Compassionate, resilient and confident personality.
- Willingness to work with children experiencing complex emotional and behavioural issues.
- Positive, proactive attitude and ability to adapt to changing needs.
Required skills
- Basic understanding of mental‑health concepts relevant to children.
