Mental Health Support Worker – Youth Services

About the role

Paragon Social Care is seeking a compassionate Crisis Support Worker to join a specialist team that supports young people aged 11‑17 with complex emotional, behavioural and mental health needs. The role involves building a trusted, long‑term relationship with a single young person, providing daily stability, therapeutic support and safe transportation to appointments.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily living routines and encourage engagement in activities that promote wellbeing.
• Plan and accompany the young person on social outings and recreational days.
• Deliver evidence‑based therapeutic techniques such as trauma‑informed grounding and emotional regulation strategies.
• Prioritise the safety and security of the young person at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, interventions and communications in line with safeguarding requirements.
• Participate in regular supervision, reflective practice and mandatory training.
• Transport the young person to appointments, activities or education as required.
• Liaise with external professionals (CAMHS, social workers, emergency services) to ensure coordinated care.

Required profile

• Empathic, resilient and proactive with a calm, patient and emotionally regulated demeanor.
• Ability to build trust and provide consistent, compassionate support.
• Strong organisational skills for planning activities and maintaining records.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour day or night shifts on a flexible/agency basis.
