Mental Health Teaching Assistant (Maidenhead)

About the role
An excellent opportunity has opened at a specialist school in Maidenhead to support children aged 4‑16 who experience social, emotional and mental‑health challenges. You will work closely with learners, integrating therapeutic activities with the curriculum and helping them achieve academic and personal milestones.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students, incorporating therapy into lessons.
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom management and maintaining a tidy learning environment.
- Monitor and encourage progress toward age‑appropriate academic and personal goals.
- Manage general classroom behaviour and support phonics practice and reading sessions.
Required profile
- Calm, compassionate and confident with the ability to take initiative.
- Adaptable approach to meet the varied needs of children with learning difficulties.
- Enthusiastic personality; confidence and a bubbly attitude are valued.
- Interest in pursuing a career in psychology, education or related fields.
