Mental Health & Wellbeing Teaching Assistant

About the role
We are looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Tower Hamlets. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to provide emotional wellbeing support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1‑to‑1 and small‑group wellbeing interventions.
- Support students in regulating emotions throughout the school day.
- Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils.
- Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor progress.
- Assist with safeguarding procedures and help remove barriers to learning.
Required profile
- Experience in SEMH, SEND, CAMHS, youth work or alternative provision.
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, patient approach.
- Trauma‑informed mindset.
- Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
- Availability for immediate interview.
