Metadata Lead

About the role

Matchtech is on a mission to unlock the full value of data. We are seeking an experienced Metadata Lead to own and evolve our enterprise metadata capability, ensuring data is discoverable, governed and trusted across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, own and deliver the metadata roadmap aligned with business outcomes.
• Lead configuration, implementation and value‑realisation initiatives for Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Use metadata tools to support data‑governance and data‑quality programmes with key stakeholders.
• Promote metadata management through forums, workshops and demonstrations.
• Automate and optimise governance processes leveraging metadata capabilities.
• Support major data migration and integration programmes through effective metadata management.
• Establish and track measurable performance metrics to demonstrate value and progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and executing roadmaps that deliver clear business value.
• Strong communication skills, able to translate technical concepts into business benefits.
• Deep understanding of data‑governance and data‑quality best practices.
• Experience coaching and influencing data‑owners, stewards and governance professionals.

Required skills

• Collibra – data cataloguing and lineage.
• Databricks Unity Catalog – hands‑on implementation.
