Metallurgist – Laboratory & Project Role in Truro

About the role

Alfred H Knight is seeking a Metallurgist to join its Truro laboratory, offering end‑to‑end exposure across the mining value chain. You will work on bench and pilot‑scale testing, data analysis, flow‑sheet development, R&D and client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and manage metallurgical testwork including comminution, beneficiation, flotation, gravity concentration and hydrometallurgy.
• Analyse raw data, calculate mass balances and evaluate metallurgical recoveries.
• Develop flow‑sheets and support R&D projects.
• Maintain accurate sample tracking, test logs and auditable laboratory records.
• Engage with clients to understand requirements and deliver testing summaries.

Required profile

• Practical experience in a testing laboratory, technical consultancy or plant environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive approach to HSE standards and laboratory best practices.
