Metals Operator – Global Commodities Trading

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Metals Operator to join a leading global commodities trading house. Based in an office in London or Geneva, you will play a pivotal role in the end‑to‑end execution of physical metals and minerals trades, ensuring smooth movement from contract to settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of physical metals and minerals transactions.
• Coordinate international logistics, shipping, warehousing and inventory movements.
• Liaise with traders, counterparties, freight providers, warehouses, inspectors and financial institutions.
• Prepare and verify trade documentation such as Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, commercial invoices and shipping paperwork.
• Monitor contractual obligations, shipment schedules and operational risks.
• Resolve operational issues with internal stakeholders to ensure timely settlement.
• Support continuous improvement of operational processes and systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in physical metals operations within a commodity trading environment.
• Strong knowledge of trade execution, international logistics and supply‑chain processes.
• Ability to handle multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Additional language skills (Russian, French or Mandarin) are a plus.
