Mid-Level AI / Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a growing organisation that is expanding its AI function. The Mid‑Level AI / Machine Learning Engineer will work on production‑scale AI systems, moving beyond research prototypes to real‑world impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy machine‑learning models into production environments.
• Integrate generative AI and large language models, including prompt engineering, fine‑tuning and retrieval‑augmented generation architectures.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software developers to create robust data pipelines for ML workloads.
• Monitor and maintain deployed models, handling drift, performance and scalability issues.
• Translate business problems into applied AI solutions together with product and engineering stakeholders.
• Contribute to MLOps best practices, model versioning and responsible AI usage.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience in machine learning, AI engineering or applied data science.
• Strong academic background (MSc/PhD in a quantitative field) or equivalent commercial experience.
• Experience working in regulated or data‑sensitive environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or scikit‑learn.
• Deployment on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• MLOps practices: CI/CD for ML, model monitoring and versioning.
• Generative AI tooling: OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, LangChain, vector databases.
• Containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
