Mid-Level Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join Adobe’s Administration Platform team in Edinburgh. You will help build scalable, high-performance services that support millions of users worldwide while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain reliable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers and designers to deliver end-to-end features.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and set technical direction.
• Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code and resolve performance or reliability issues.
• Build tooling and automation to reduce operational overhead.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a supportive team culture.

Required profile

• 2–6 years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Curiosity, growth mindset and dedication to continuous learning.

Required skills

• Java, Python, Go, Scala or Node.js.
• RESTful or GraphQL API development.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and microservices architecture.
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Spring, Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• CI/CD pipelines, Argo CD.
• Monitoring tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus or Grafana.
• Infrastructure tooling: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
