Mid Software Engineer

About the role

You will join Bauer Media Audio’s new in‑house development hub in Manchester to help build the next‑generation audio platform. Working alongside senior engineers, you will develop and maintain features across both client and server layers while gaining ownership as the team grows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features and services across the platform.
• Participate in prototyping and early‑stage feature work.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams to deliver high‑quality software.
• Apply DevOps practices, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and observability.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests, ensuring security best practices.
• Participate in incident management and support recruitment/onboarding activities.

Required profile

• Solid engineering experience with the ability to work independently on full‑stack features.
• Flexibility to move between front‑end and back‑end technologies as product needs evolve.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Desirable experience in media or streaming, incident management, AI tooling interest, and documentation skills.
