Mill Operator / Forklift Driver

About the role

We are recruiting for a long‑established, family‑run manufacturing business in Maidstone. The successful candidate will join a fast‑paced production team, operating mill equipment and handling materials with a forklift to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare raw materials for the manufacturing process.
• Operate mill control panels and associated equipment.
• Follow company procedures and quality standards throughout production.
• Maintain accurate production records and routine cleaning schedules.
• Pack finished products, stack them onto pallets and store them safely.
• Load, unload and move materials using a counter‑balance forklift truck.
• Test and approve raw materials and ensure safe storage in warehouse racking.

Required profile

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
• Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Good communication, teamwork and a positive, reliable attitude.
• Own transport for commuting to the site.
