Minibus Driver

About the role

Edgeborough School is looking for an evening Minibus Driver to provide a safe and reliable transport service for its pupils during term time. The role involves driving the school minibus on scheduled routes, maintaining records and ensuring the vehicle is clean and road‑worthy.

Key responsibilities

• Transport students safely on agreed routes during evening hours.
• Maintain accurate daily records of children using the service.
• Carry out pre‑ and post‑journey vehicle checks and basic maintenance.
• Keep the minibus clean and tidy before and after each journey.
• Drive in accordance with traffic regulations and school safeguarding policies.
• Report any damage, maintenance issues or driving sanctions promptly to the Estates Manager.
• Comply with all safeguarding procedures and school policies.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties related to minibus operation.

Required profile

• Full, valid driving licence with at least two years’ driving experience.
• Medically fit to drive minibuses.
• Reliable, punctual and present a smart appearance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptable, flexible and professional at all times.
• Desirable: D1 category licence, experience driving minibuses or large vehicles, local road knowledge and previous school environment experience.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly rate of £14.00‑£14.75.
• Evening shifts (5 pm‑7 pm) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, term‑time only.
