Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to deliver planned preventative maintenance, breakdown support and installations for commercial and industrial boiler systems across London and the South East. The role is field‑based, requiring travel to client sites and direct interaction with customers to ensure safe, efficient heating solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial and industrial boiler plants and associated heating systems.
• Respond to reactive breakdown calls, diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Conduct fault‑finding on electrical, mechanical and gas/oil components of boiler systems.
• Install, commission and de‑commission boiler equipment as required.
• Carry out combustion analysis and ensure optimal boiler efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Perform gas safety inspections and maintain required certifications and records.
• Identify and rectify defects on pumps, valves, heat exchangers, flue systems and control panels.
• Produce technical reports detailing work performed, parts used and recommendations.
• Maintain vehicle stock, inventory records and adhere to on‑call rota duties.

Required profile

• Full current Commercial Gas Safe accreditations (COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1A/TPCP1).
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heating & Ventilation, Gas Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Mobile Boiler Engineer on commercial/industrial systems.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (Gas Safe, LOLER, COSHH, CDM).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
