Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer

About the role

Artic Building Services is looking for a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to deliver planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown support and new installations for commercial and industrial boiler systems across London and the South East. The role is field‑based, requiring a high level of technical expertise and a commitment to safety, efficiency and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial and industrial boiler plant and associated heating systems.
• Respond to reactive breakdown calls, diagnose faults, and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Conduct fault‑finding on electrical, mechanical and gas/oil components, including pumps, valves, heat exchangers and control panels.
• Carry out boiler installations, commissioning, de‑commissioning and comprehensive combustion analysis.
• Execute gas safety inspections, maintain certifications and produce detailed technical reports.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota and manage vehicle stock and inventory records.

Required profile

• Full current Commercial Gas Safe accreditations (COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1A/TPCP1, optional CORT1).
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heating & Ventilation, Gas Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mobile Boiler Engineer on commercial/industrial systems.
• Full UK driving licence (clean preferred) and strong understanding of health‑and‑safety regulations.

Required skills

• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities across a range of boiler manufacturers.
• IT literate for completing reports, managing job sheets and using mobile applications.
