Mobile Fabric Engineer – Commercial Building Maintenance

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Mobile Fabric Engineer to join a well‑established building maintenance company that manages commercial properties across London and the M25. The role offers a stable, long‑term position with regular overtime, training and clear career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across commercial properties.
• Complete carpentry and joinery repairs, including doors, locks, hinges and shelving.
• Perform painting, decorating and wall‑patch repairs.
• Replace and repair ceiling tiles, floor tiles and carpet tiles.
• Undertake general building fabric repairs and maintenance.
• Complete PPM and reactive works in line with SLAs and client requirements.
• Identify and report defects, hazards and required remedial works.
• Complete job sheets, maintenance records and reports accurately.
• Order materials and manage stock as required.
• Work alongside subcontractors and other engineers when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial fabric or building maintenance.
• Strong carpentry, joinery and general fabric maintenance skills.
• Experience carrying out reactive and planned maintenance.
• Professional, reliable and customer‑focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant City & Guilds, NVQ or trade qualification (desirable but not essential).
