Mobile Fleet Engineer – HGV Mechanic (South West)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Fleet Engineer to provide on‑site HGV and specialist vehicle support across the South West. You will travel to customer workshops and remote sites, delivering servicing, repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy‑goods vehicles and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to vehicle call‑outs and emergency breakdowns.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and pre‑arranged servicing at customer locations.
• Perform MOT preparation, engine diagnostics and repairs.
• Rectify running defects, conduct chassis and fabrication work.
• Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, including wiring inspections and repairs.
• Work on HGVs, ground support equipment, RoRo units, tractors, tugs, shunters, cherry pickers and other specialist platforms.

Required profile

• Strong technical background with proven experience on HGVs and specialist vehicles.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and represent the company professionally on site.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to health and safety standards.
• Enthusiastic problem‑solver with a proactive attitude.
