Mobile Heavy Plant Engineer – South West

About the role

This position is for a Mobile Heavy Plant Engineer covering the South West of England. You will be based at home and travel to customer sites, performing maintenance on a wide range of recycling, waste processing and forestry equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and planned maintenance, including breakdown repairs and component replacements for motors, gearboxes, conveyors and other plant parts.
• Strip machine assemblies to component level, rebuild and re‑commission equipment.
• Service specialist equipment such as shredders, screeners, trommels, chippers, separation systems and material handling units from manufacturers like HAAS, JENZ, Pronar and Bruce Engineering.
• Provide technical support to customers across the South West, ensuring minimal downtime.

Required profile

• Experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Field Service Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Quarrying Equipment Engineer, Recycling Equipment Engineer or Heavy Plant Technician.
• Strong hydraulic, mechanical and electrical fault‑finding abilities.
• Background working on shredders, screeners, chippers, separation systems or material handling equipment is advantageous.

What we offer

• On‑target earnings of £56,000‑£60,000 per annum, including door‑to‑door pay, overtime and a company van with fuel card.
• Standard hours 7:30‑16:30, 42 hours per week.
