Mobile Plant Fitter – Heavy Plant Maintenance

About the role

This field‑based position involves servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of mobile and heavy plant equipment for clients across North Yorkshire, County Durham and Tyne & Wear. You will work both independently and as part of an engineering team to minimise downtime and deliver high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance on mobile plant and heavy machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and execute effective repairs on site.
• Maintain accurate service records and report any recurring issues.
• Travel between multiple customer sites, ensuring timely response to emergencies.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team to share knowledge and improve service processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter or Plant Engineer.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and repair abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to manage workload across several locations independently.
