Mobile Plant Mechanic – Full‑time, Bristol

About the role

You will maintain a wide range of mobile plant machinery and vehicles within a busy 24/7 port environment. The position works on rotating shift patterns and requires both independent problem‑solving and teamwork to keep equipment operating at the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on commercial vehicles, forklift trucks, loading shovels and other mobile plant equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel engine issues and carry out repairs.
• Work shift patterns to support continuous port operations, including nights and weekends.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Completed a recognised motor‑vehicle apprenticeship (minimum Level 3).
• Flexible attitude with willingness to work a 24/7 shift pattern.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
