Mobile PSV Mechanic – Inverness

About the role

Ember is the UK's first all‑electric coach company, operating 118 electric coaches across Scotland. We are looking for a Mobile PSV Mechanic based in Inverness to work across our fleet and support teams in Aberdeen, Dundee and Livingston.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to keep coaches on the road.
• Perform planned and preventative maintenance on a high‑usage electric fleet.
• Utilise remote diagnostics and proprietary software to monitor vehicle health.
• Collaborate with manufacturers to investigate root causes and develop long‑term solutions.
• Support the rollout of new charging hubs and related infrastructure.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or international equivalent) in PSV/HGV maintenance and repair.
• IRTEC accreditation.
• 3+ years senior‑level experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of DVSA compliance and MOT preparation.
• Full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
• Experience with safety and quality checks on public service vehicles.

Required skills

• High‑voltage system handling (preferred).
• Proficiency with fleet management systems.
• Remote diagnostics capability.
• Comfort with proprietary maintenance software.
