Mobile Vehicle Technician – Esher

About the role

The RAC’s Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is looking for a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join its Esher cluster. You will deliver planned servicing and repairs directly at members’ homes or workplaces, following a pre‑booked schedule that eliminates emergency call‑outs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and comprehensive diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Carry out in‑depth repairs normally completed in a workshop, ensuring vehicle safety and compliance with RAC standards.
• Provide members with clear advice and recommendations based on inspection findings.
• Manage parts ordering and use a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and tool set.
• Follow a digital schedule of appointments, working 40 hours per week with core hours 8:30 am‑5:00 pm and occasional Saturdays.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years experience, or 5 years experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Ability to work independently on a mobile basis while maintaining high quality standards.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
