Mobile Vehicle Technician – Harlow

About the role

The RAC’s Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is looking for a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join its Harlow cluster. You will deliver planned servicing and repairs directly at customers’ homes or workplaces, following a pre‑booked schedule with no emergency call‑outs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle servicing and in‑depth repairs normally done in a workshop.
• Run diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment and provide accurate fault identification.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks in line with RAC standards.
• Offer members clear advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Manage parts ordering and documentation through the RAC mobile service platform.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience, or 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently on a mobile van, following a digital schedule.
• Commitment to a 40‑hour week, core hours 8:30 am‑5:00 pm, with one Saturday in four.
