About the role
We are seeking a motivated Modern Foreign Language (MFL) Teacher to join our school in Bournemouth. You will inspire pupils to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing in a foreign language while deepening their cultural understanding.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality language lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach one or more languages such as French, Spanish or German, according to your specialism.
- Develop students’ fluency, grammar and cultural awareness.
- Assess, track and report on pupil progress and prepare them for GCSE language examinations.
- Encourage active communication in the target language during lessons.
- Contribute to enrichment activities, including language clubs and overseas trips.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related subject (desirable but not essential).
- Strong fluency in at least one taught language.
- Passion for language learning and cultural education.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Willingness to engage in wider school life.
