Mortgage & Protection Advisor – Hybrid (Self‑Employed)

About the role

The role is for a Mortgage and Protection Advisor working on a hybrid basis for a busy estate agency in Plymouth and the surrounding area. You will operate as a self‑employed professional, visiting the office for occasional morning meetings and face‑to‑face appointments while managing the majority of your activities remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up on supplied leads (5‑10 per week) and convert them into sales.
• Proactively source additional leads through all available channels.
• Recommend mortgage and protection products that best match the customer’s needs, priorities and regulatory requirements.
• Assess customer affordability and ensure responsible lending in line with compliance standards.
• Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall team performance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date market knowledge and forecast a reliable sales pipeline.
• Continuously improve conversion rates and customer experience.

Required profile

• CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience within the mortgage brokerage market, ideally within an estate agency environment.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of financial services sales and compliance regulations.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
