MOT Tester – Full‑time at Halfords, Portsmouth

About the role

We are looking for a qualified MOT Tester to join Halfords in Portsmouth. You will carry out MOT inspections and support the workshop with light vehicle maintenance when not testing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles.
• Ensure each test complies with current regulations and standards.
• Complete accurate test documentation and issue certificates.
• Provide customers with clear advice on test results and required repairs.
• Assist with light vehicle maintenance tasks when not performing MOTs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.

Required profile

• Valid MOT testing licence.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 penalty points.
• Team‑player attitude and willingness to assist colleagues.
• Availability to work five days a week (centre closed on Sundays).
