Motor Claims Handler

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Motor Claims Handler to manage fire, theft and damage claims throughout the entire claim journey. You will work on behalf of motor underwriters, providing expert advice and ensuring an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of motor claims, from initial report to settlement.
• Provide comprehensive advice to policyholders and recommend the best course of action.
• Control claim costs while delivering economical settlements.
• Liaise with insurers, policyholders, leaseholders, engineers, brokers and solicitors, providing timely updates.
• Negotiate and adjust third‑party claims.
• Gather relevant documentation and media for claim assessment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as Treating Customers Fairly.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of motor claims handling, including credit hire, salvage, indemnity and third‑party risk.
• Familiarity with underwriters' terms and conditions to validate claims.
• Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage allocated workflow.
• Adaptable, proactive and collaborative mindset.
• High numeracy and literacy levels.
