About the role
This full‑time position is for a qualified solicitor specialising in motor crime. You will join a dedicated Crime & Regulatory team in Birmingham, working on a wide range of cases from road‑traffic offences to serious injury and manslaughter matters.
Key responsibilities
- Review and analyse prosecution evidence and case files.
- Draft witness statements, legal submissions and defence bundles.
- Support clients throughout investigations, police station interviews and court proceedings.
- Attend police stations, courts and tribunals, including trials and inquests.
- Liaise with regulators, expert witnesses and other stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits, gather evidence and perform legal research.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor with experience in motor crime or criminal law.
- Ideal for NQ–1 PQE (6–12 months criminal experience).
- Background in legal aid or criminal defence is highly desirable.
- Excellent client‑care and communication skills.
- Resilient, calm under pressure and able to travel to police stations and courts.
