Motor Fraud Technical Supervisor

About the role

This position offers the chance to join a dynamic legal team, providing technical support and mentorship to Counter Fraud file handlers. Reporting to the Technical Manager and Business Unit Director, you will drive best practice, strategic case progression and technical excellence within the Counter Fraud department.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Counter Fraud file handlers according to the competency framework and maintain accurate technical development records.
• Mentor and coach handlers to expand their technical knowledge and expertise.
• Assist with pre‑audit assessments for external client audits and internal unit audits.
• Identify training needs and communicate them to the Team Leader and Technical Manager.
• Develop new starters to achieve their financial authority within set timescales.
• Spot and escalate opportunities for strategic litigation and complex case referrals.
• Manage performance improvement plans for technical issues.
• Handle a reduced caseload of specialist claims valued over £25,000.
• Ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2016 and uphold Keoghs Values.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or CILEX with necessary practice rights (CILEX lawyers also considered).
• Experience handling defendant motor claims and Counter Fraud matters.
• Proven ability to manage your own caseload.
• Strong planning, prioritisation and calmness under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to anticipate problems and devise solutions.
