Motor Transport Driver – Northwood HQ

About the role

Skanska is seeking an experienced Motor Transport (MT) Driver to provide first‑class driving services for both military and civil personnel at the UK Ministry of Defence’s Northwood Headquarters. You will operate a range of vehicles, ensure they are maintained to specification, and support the daily transport needs of the site.

Key responsibilities

• Drive various vehicles, including cars and minibuses, within the MT pool.
• Perform first‑line maintenance and pre‑trip checks in line with vehicle specifications.
• Valet and prepare vehicles when not in use.
• Deliver transport services in compliance with MoD and civilian regulations.
• Work a 12‑week shift pattern, including one Saturday and one Sunday per cycle.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain Security Clearance at SC level (5‑year UK residency required).
• Professional driving experience in a transport environment.
• Residency within 30 minutes of Northwood HQ is preferred.

Required skills

• Valid UK driving licence (Category D or D1 without “101” restriction) or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver CPC qualification card.
• Driver tachograph card.
• Extensive knowledge of UK driving regulations and drivers’ hours rules.
• Capability to carry out first‑line vehicle maintenance and checks.
