Motor Vehicle Assessor – Full‑time (Middlesbrough)

About the role

The Assessor of Motor Vehicle will work with Middlesbrough College to support learners undertaking motor‑vehicle related apprenticeships. You will manage a caseload of apprentices, develop learning plans and ensure successful progression to End Point Assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver induction and initial assessments to set realistic learning priorities.
• Develop individual learning plans in liaison with employers and monitor progress against SMART objectives.
• Maintain a minimum caseload, guiding apprentices to achieve the relevant Apprenticeship Standard and preparing them for End Point Assessment.
• Provide advice and guidance to learners and employers, promoting 20% off‑the‑job training requirements.
• Build and sustain relationships with external partners, local employers and agencies to recruit and retain learners.
• Support full‑cost courses such as NVQs where required.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of lesson plans that meet learner needs.
• Conduct health and safety risk assessments for employer sites to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an assessor within the motor‑vehicle or automotive apprenticeship sector.
• Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards, End Point Assessment processes and off‑the‑job training requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with learners, employers and external agencies.
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet targets while maintaining high quality standards.
