Motor Vehicle Lecturer

About the role

First Military Recruitment is recruiting a Motor Vehicle Lecturer for a client college in Uxbridge. You will inspire 16‑19‑year‑old learners studying City & Guilds qualifications, with future delivery of IMI courses. The role is full‑time and includes support to obtain a recognised teaching qualification if you do not already hold one.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a range of motor‑vehicle programmes, including City & Guilds and IMI courses.
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching resources.
• Utilise IT and e‑learning tools to enhance curriculum delivery.
• Integrate Functional Skills where appropriate.
• Design and manage assessment plans, provide timely feedback and mark work.
• Set and monitor targets for achievement, attendance and retention.
• Promote equal opportunities and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Comply with health & safety and safeguarding legislation.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle/Automotive.
• Industry experience in the motor‑vehicle sector.
• Some experience of teaching, training or assessing learners.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for motor vehicles.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., DET, PGCE) if not already held.
• Ex‑military applicants are encouraged but not required.
