Movement Scheduler

About the role

We are seeking a Movement Scheduler to support the Skye Reinforcement Project, delivering 132kV overhead line and underground cabling works. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will forecast, schedule and coordinate all LGV and HGV movements, ensuring efficient logistics while minimising disruption across a complex, geographically challenging route.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive movement schedule for all LGV and HGV activities.
• Forecast logistics requirements in line with the construction programme and look‑ahead plans.
• Coordinate material deliveries, heavy plant mobilisation, fuel deliveries, welfare unit installation and support vehicle movements.
• Align logistics plans with site access constraints and work‑front readiness.
• Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to sequence activities and manage logistics clashes.
• Interface with the Highland Council, SSEN and other stakeholders to coordinate movement requirements.
• Support CDM compliance, safety risk identification and environmental considerations.
• Maintain movement trackers, performance dashboards and produce regular logistics reports.
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and ensure compliance with Balfour Beatty IMS, health & safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics coordination, scheduling or planning within construction or infrastructure.
• Strong organisational, planning and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced environments and manage competing priorities.
• Desirable experience on utilities, power or civil infrastructure projects and knowledge of CDM regulations.
• Understanding of environmental considerations and carbon tracking in logistics.
