MRO Technician – Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join a leading British engineering manufacturer as an MRO Technician. The role involves working on complex mechanical equipment where precision, quality and attention to detail are essential. You will start with structured training and progress to a broader range of maintenance, overhaul and repair activities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance on returned products and components.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Replace mechanical components and perform rebuild activities.
• Repack parachutes according to detailed procedures.
• Execute modification and retrofit work.
• Follow engineering drawings, work instructions and quality procedures.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and to the highest standards.

Required profile

• Engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC or HNC in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Approximately three years of relevant engineering maintenance experience.
• Proven ability to fault‑find, repair or overhaul mechanical equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, quality‑focused approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
