Multi-skilled Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Multi‑skilled Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing team in Aylesham. The role involves maintaining high equipment availability, responding swiftly to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to maximise machine uptime.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, minimizing production disruption.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using root‑cause analysis techniques.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems (up to 400 V), PLCs and control circuits.
• Support projects that optimise equipment performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and update risk assessments, standard operating procedures and maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering with strong electrical and mechanical experience.
• Proven experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with PLCs and variable speed drives.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and technical troubleshooting.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when required.
