Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast‑growing, high‑tech manufacturing site in Shepton Mallet. You will be responsible for keeping a wide range of process and packaging equipment running safely and efficiently, supporting both reactive repairs and continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on production and process equipment.
• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks, including work on PLCs, inverters, heating elements, servo motors and sensors.
• Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, shafts, tensioners and bearings.
• Support high‑speed packing lines, fillers, pasteurisers and inspection systems.
• Execute and improve preventive maintenance (PPM) routines to meet OEE targets.
• Record and report maintenance activity accurately.
• Participate in site projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Time‑served or fully qualified engineer (City & Guilds, HNC, HND or equivalent).
• Proven ability to carry out electrical fault finding.
• Experience with PLC‑controlled equipment is advantageous.
• Background in FMCG or food/drink production preferred.
• Additional capabilities such as welding, turning or milling are a bonus.
