Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician – Full Time

About the role

Our client, a leading industrial packaging manufacturer in the North West, is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliability and performance of production equipment and site facilities. This full‑time, permanent position offers a hands‑on environment where practical problem‑solving and technical expertise are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical systems in line with health and safety standards.
• Carry out routine electrical maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, sockets and basic installations.
• Maintain mechanical equipment including high‑pressure pumps, conveyors, shredders and production machinery.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new production systems and equipment.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance according to schedule.
• Support budget preparation and manage maintenance costs effectively.
• Manage tools and equipment, ensuring they are serviceable and available.
• Maintain general site condition, keeping facilities safe, functional and presentable.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• PLC knowledge (advantageous).
• Strong grasp of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Competent using common tools, equipment and machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Proactive problem‑solving and fault‑finding abilities.
• Physically fit, reliable and flexible with overtime availability.
• Basic MIG welding skills.
• Willingness to learn and think creatively when solving problems.
