Multi Trade Operative

About the role

We are seeking two experienced Multi Trade Operatives to carry out high‑quality fencing and roofing repairs across our housing portfolio. Working on a fixed‑term basis until March 2027, you will ensure homes remain safe, secure and weather‑tight while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out responsive and emergency repairs to timber, concrete and metal fencing systems, including gates, posts and gravel boards.
• Repair and replace pitched and flat roof components such as tiles, slates, ridge tiles, felt, battens and waterproof membranes.
• Maintain guttering, fascias, soffits and other rainwater goods.
• Diagnose defects, select compliant solutions and work safely at height using ladders, podiums or scaffolding.
• Record work, order materials and update job status in real‑time via mobile devices.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours emergency call‑outs and manage your own van, tools and stock.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fencing and/or roofing within domestic settings.
• Strong practical attention to finish and quality.
• Ability to work safely at height and use access equipment.
• Customer‑focused attitude with good communication skills.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Roofing, Fencing, Carpentry or a related trade (or equivalent experience).
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Timber, concrete and metal fencing installation and repair.
• Roofing work including tiles, slates, ridge tiles, felt, battens and membranes.
• Guttering, fascias and soffit installation.
• Working at height using ladders, podiums and scaffolding.
• NVQ Level 2/3 Roofing/Fencing/Carpentry qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
