Multi Trade Operative – Plasterer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Multi Trade Operative, specialising as a plasterer, to provide high‑quality, customer‑focused plastering services across our social housing portfolio. This hands‑on role involves responsive repairs, emergency jobs and minor planned works, ensuring homes are safe, habitable and finished to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver responsive and emergency plastering repairs within agreed timescales.
• Carry out internal wall and ceiling repairs, skimming, patch plastering and external rendering where required.
• Prepare backgrounds through bonding, boarding and sealing before applying finishes.
• Diagnose defects and select the most appropriate repair solution.
• Work safely and compliantly in occupied homes, protecting residents’ belongings and maintaining tidy work areas.
• Record work, order materials and update jobs using mobile working systems.
• Manage tools, vehicle and van stock and participate in an out‑of‑hours emergency call‑out rota.

Required profile

• Proven experience completing plastering repairs and finishes in domestic properties.
• Ability to achieve high‑quality, right‑first‑time finishes.
• Customer‑focused, professional approach with good communication skills.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering (or equivalent experience).
• Full UK driving licence.

• Plastering (wall, ceiling, skimming, patching).
• Rendering and external patch repairs.
• Background preparation (bonding, boarding, sealing).
• Defect diagnosis and repair solution selection.
• Use of mobile work order systems.
• Tool and vehicle management.
