Multi‑Skilled Builder – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Builder on a six‑month contract to support the in‑house maintenance and civils team at BAE Systems Glascoed. The role involves a variety of hands‑on building, repair and maintenance tasks across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general building repairs and routine maintenance.
• Support both planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Perform minor works and installations, including painting, decorating and plaster patching.
• Execute basic groundworks, concrete repairs, masonry and roofing tasks.
• Repair and install flooring, suspended ceilings and rainwater goods.
• Work from drawings, plans and written instructions.
• Assist supervisors and site teams with day‑to‑day maintenance duties.
• Liaise with internal teams, tradespeople and subcontractors as required.
• Complete necessary paperwork and adhere to health‑and‑safety procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in general building, carpentry, joinery, groundworks, property maintenance or a similar trade.
• Confidence in carrying out repairs, installations and minor works.
• Ability to follow instructions, drawings and site procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible approach to workload and site priorities.
• Strong awareness of health and safety.

Required skills

• Valid CSCS card.
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Building – beneficial.
• Forklift truck licence (desirable).
• Dumper licence (desirable).
• Abrasive wheels qualification (desirable).
• Experience operating plant vehicles (desirable).

What we offer

• £20.06 per hour (PAYE) on a 37‑hour week.
