Multiskilled CNC Miller – Setter/Operator (Back‑shift)

About the role

Our client, a specialist manufacturer in the North East, is seeking a multiskilled CNC Miller – Setter/Operator to join a permanent back‑shift team. The role runs 14:30‑00:30, Monday‑Thursday, and involves setting up and operating 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate CNC mills with Heidenhain and Fanuc controls.
• Machine 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis components according to engineering drawings.
• Hand‑deburr and fettle detailed parts, then perform quality checks on own output.
• Troubleshoot and adjust offset coordinates as required.
• Use the manufacturing system to verify material availability, part requirements and routings.
• Work within a 5S manufacturing cell environment.

Required profile

• Engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum three years’ experience on multi‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Proactive team player with a “can‑do” attitude.
