Multi‑Skilled Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance

About the role

Join the Brewery Engineering team at Mizkan Euro in Middleton, Manchester as a Multi‑Skilled Engineer. Reporting to the Brewery Engineering Lead, you will keep production assets running safely, efficiently and reliably in a fast‑paced food‑and‑drink manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on brewery equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly.
• Respond to production breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous‑improvement projects that boost reliability and productivity.
• Assist with equipment installation, modification and commissioning.
• Ensure all work complies with site safety standards.
• Collaborate with production teams to improve plant performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (BTEC, NVQ or equivalent).
• Strong electrical fault‑finding skills and knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
• Experience maintaining manufacturing or process equipment, including pumps, motors and gearboxes.
• Proactive problem‑solver, calm under pressure and able to communicate effectively with production staff.
• Desirable: HNC in Electrical Engineering, City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing, PLC fault‑finding experience, steam‑system experience, and background in food, beverage, brewery or FMCG manufacturing.
